Patrick Bernard Scholarship Fund

When Patrick Bernard, the first President of Mammoth Lakes Youth Hockey stepped away from the program, he left us with one request: “Just make sure to keep it affordable.” Throughout his tenure, Patrick always found ways to get (and keep) kids involved in the great game of hockey. The Patrick Bernard Scholarship fund is our way of saying thank you to Patrick and upholding his legacy.

The Fund is a need-based scholarship created to help families cover the cost of playing hockey with Mammoth Lakes Youth Hockey. The PBS can be applied to expenses like equipment, tournament fees, and registration costs, and can augment the Tony Colosardo Scholarship provided by the Town of Mammoth Lakes.

The scholarship is open to all applicants and the recipients and award amounts are determined based on a vote of the Mammoth Lakes Youth Hockey Board of Directors.

The application process includes submission of basic personal and financial information, a brief essay outlining what the award will be used for, and a commitment to volunteer at least four hours if chosen.

The two-week application period opens each year in October.
