Thank you for your interest in Mammoth Stars travel hockey! The Mammoth Stars compete in SCAHA (Southern California Amateur Hockey Association) and age groups and levels will vary year to year. This is a very exciting time to be a Mammoth Star!
TRYOUT INFORMATION
Mandatory tryouts will be held June 20, 2025. ALL PROSPECTIVE PLAYERS must register and pay the $30 tryout fee. The registration link is below.
Tryouts will be held at the South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena. The schedule is as follows:
10 U – SQUIRTS – Birth Years 2015 and 2016 – 8 – 9 am
12U – PEEWEES – Birth Years 2013 and 2014 – 9:15 – 10:15 am
14U – BANTAMS – Birth Years 2011and 2012 – 10:30 – 11:30 am
ALL AGES SCRIMMAGE – 2 – 3:30 pm
Please note, you must have a valid 2025-2026 USA Hockey Number as well as a 25-26 SCAHA Season Pass number to complete the registration.

- Players – $1,450 (tentatively)
- Goal tenders – $798 (tentatively)
- Travel Fees include:

- 17-18 regular season games (8-9 home games in Mammoth occur during October & November)
- Season starts Mid-September and ends in early March

- MLK Weekend – January 16 – 19, 2026 (Tahoe)
- Presidents Weekend – February 13 – 16, 2026(Vegas)

- Travel Fees DO NOT include:
- SCAHA and CAHA Playoffs in March (for teams who qualify)

- White hockey helmet
Uniform Notes:
If your player has a uniform that fits properly, we do not require them to purchase a new uniform each year. If your player needs a new helmet, please purchase a white one. If your player needs new gloves, Navy blue is our color. The same goes for pants, but we generally include pant shells in our uniform package.
