Mammoth Lakes Youth Hockey takes great pride in being the most fun youth sports experience in the eastern sierra. From Hockey Night in Mammoth, to our Mite Jamboree Winter Classic, to SCAHA Saturdays, there’s always something happening at the rink. With so many families interacting–both local and from out of town–disagreements are bound to happen, and as our program grows and matures, our expectations as parents and players may change. All of this is part of the process and while our goal is to create Hockey Heaven on Earth, we know we are going to fall short.
When we do, the most important thing is to remember why each of us is here:
we have a child who loves the game of hockey and just wants to play.
So please keep these things in mind when you’re inside our beautiful rink watching your child enjoy their favorite time of the week.
- Competition is important and we always play the game to win, but WINNING IS NOT THE GOAL
- Your child is not going to the NHL tomorrow or next month or next year. Let them develop on their own schedule
- There is no game for your child to play without referees. They not only deserve your utmost respect, but you should buy them a beer after the game to say thank you (win or lose)
- Everyone at MLYH is a volunteer and without them, you’re driving to Tahoe three times a week for your child to play
- Give people the benefit of the doubt. No one is trying to sabotage your nine year-old’s career
- A little kindness goes a long way

We’ve also included links to the the USA Hockey Codes of Conduct, as well as our Grievance Process, for the rare occasion when something serious needs to be brought to our attention.
